about monroe township ice hockey: Our Organization's History and Founding Principles

Founded in 2017, Monroe Township Ice Hockey (“MTIH”) is a recreational non-profit hockey organization operated by volunteers committed to giving all Monroe Township youth and approved participation in grades K to 12, the opportunity to learn and play the game of hockey at the Recreational Level. We are promoting our ice hockey program as it is an official rec sport in Monroe Township. Our goal is to introduce and grow our program for those who play ice hockey. MTIH is committed to:

1. Providing a positive hockey environment that is safe and wholesome for both players and families

2. The principles of Positive Coaching, where teaching life lessons like good sportsmanship, winning/losing with pride and teamwork are fundamental.

3. Developing and cultivating our players’ love of the game by teaching them the game of hockey (both skills and rules), as well as to honor the game and its participants (players, coaches, referees, parents and fans).

4. Ensuring that all players in our organization are valued, regardless of skill level.

5. Most importantly, to make sure that all players in our organization have FUN!
